Writeup by George Zhao

The first game between Jerry and Radu was a good fight. Jerry was up 2:0, Radu evened it to 2:2. In the fifth game, Jerry was more aggressive, leading early 5:1, then extended the leading to 8:2, and eventually won the game. However, if this were a real tournament match, Jerry probably would already lose, because his serve was called about a dozen times. Even our team members thought Bruce who was acting as referee, was very nice and more than fair to Jerry. [Editor: no point was deducted from the illegal serves]

The second game, Bruce didn't even need to use his forehand attack much, he only did that a handful times and easily won over George 3:0.

The double was critical for both teams, Cupertino Exige gave Milpitas Incredible team a surprise by winning game 1, but they quickly regrouped and won the next two games, in game 4, Incredible was 2 points ahead most of the time, and clearly relaxed a little at the end. This turned out to be a fatal mistake, Cupertino went back won the fourth game and then won the very close fifth game with a lucky edge ball at 9-8 to reach the match point.

Now, the match was at a point probably not expected by the Incredibles, Aaron although won the first game, was not as excited as he used to play. The game 2 was very close till the end, Jerry was lucky not only won the game, but he had two edge balls and one netball and all of them happened after 9:9. That is obviously home court advantage. Probably thinking too much about that close lose in game 2, Aaron lost game 3. Jerry kept the momentum to have a 6:2 ahead in game 4, Aaron caught up to 6:6. A time out called by George stopped Aaron's momentum, George told Jerry that Aaron is a very emotional player, if you let him won game 4; it is going to be very difficult for game 5. Jerry played more aggressively and won game four.

Game 5 with Radu dominated in the first two games, quickly had a 2-0 leading and reached 10:4 match point in game 3. Umesh suddenly woke up and tie the game at 10:10 (wow, what a come back), however, Umesh fell a little short with 11-13 lose.

After the match, George challenged Bruce for a rematch, got swept 3:0 again, and immediately challenged another rematch, got swept, and challenged Bruce again, got hammered again. Since Bruce said, only the last game counts, knowing that to win a match is impossible, George challenged Bruce (yeah, again) for one game, thought Bruce at least would be tired by now, however, Bruce was too much for George. He won again. So George didn't win a single game from Bruce after 13 tries. Of cause, George refused to count these re-match and re-re-rematch games into the team records.
